This Privacy Policy describes how Pointy AI, Co ("Pointy," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Pointy collaborative editor, the developer platform and sync service, and the related websites and applications (the "Service").
Account information. When you register, we collect your email address and a password (stored as a salted, one-way hash — never in plaintext). If you create a developer account, we also collect a name.
Content you create. We collect and store the content you create in the Service, including documents, their revision history (as a series of edit operations), comments, and any files or text you upload. Document content is stored in a form that we are technically able to access; it is not end-to-end encrypted.
Usage and technical information. We collect information about how you use the Service, such as usage metrics, API request logs, error logs, and device and browser information needed to operate and secure the Service.
Billing information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your payment card details and billing information. We receive only payment status and limited billing metadata; we do not store full card numbers.
Communications. If you contact us (for example, by email), we collect the contents of that communication.

We share information with third-party service providers only as needed to operate the Service, including:
These providers process data on our behalf and are subject to obligations consistent with this Policy. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or sale of assets.

We retain account information and content for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, or as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. You may delete your account and its associated content through the Service; deletion removes your documents and account data from the active Service, subject to backups and legal requirements.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including transport encryption (TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your information may be transferred to, and stored and processed in, countries other than your own, including the United States (our servers are located in Oregon). We take steps to ensure such transfers are protected in accordance with applicable law.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise many of these rights directly through the Service (for example, by editing or deleting your account and documents). To make a request, contact us at taylor@pointy.ink. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or a higher age threshold in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
